Generali Employee Benefits UK has bolstered the range of added-value services on its group income protection (IP) policies, with a view to further strengthening its employee absence and engagement support to the UK employees of multinationals of all shapes and sizes.
Working Towards Wellbeing provides cancer work support, which includes access to a vocational case manager upon diagnosis of cancer. The case manager will gain an understanding of the individual’s condition and specific needs. A tailored plan is then designed to help the employee work through aspects such as managing work and life during and after treatment.
Meanwhile, the chronic fatigue and pain support is provided by Vitality360 a team of specialists whose expertise includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, specialist dietetics and psychotherapy. Members of this team have also been involved in training hospitals in up to date Chronic Fatigue Syndrome care and management.
Simon Thomas, Head of Employee Benefits & Life Division, Generali UK Branch, comments: “We aim to partner with the very best in their respective fields to bring a truly comprehensive range of added value benefits to clients. In doing so we fulfill our vision and mission to enhance people’s lives with relevant insurance solutions which we believe should support the strategic business goals of our clients. Group IP is about much more than paying claims these days. Although the financial support is still an essential element, so is the provision of support services to help employers achieve their absence management and employee engagement objectives.”
Cancer and chronic fatigue work support will now form part of Generali’s range of wellbeing services, provided by expert third parties and included as standard on its group IP policies, such as: an employee assistance programme; eldercare support; second medical opinion service; mental health; and musculoskeletal support. Plus wellbeing investment matching and access to a range of additional paid-for services via Generali’s health services partner Optum, such as an interactive health kiosk, on-site workshops, and face-to-face counselling referrals.
Added to this is Generali’s newly launched wellbeing communications hub. This self-serve hub gives clients and intermediaries the opportunity to produce employer branded wellbeing communications – at no cost for electronic material - to help ensure employee engagement with all of these services.
