Accompanying SMEs in their internationalisation process
In recent years, the steady internationalisation of Spanish enterprises has led to an increasing number of mobile workers: according to the event’s organiser, ABG Personas, there are around 12.000 expatriate employees coming from the 200 most important Spanish firms.
On the basis of this trend, the International HR Meeting, this year at its 6th edition, was organised to give HR managers of Spanish companies the opportunity to discuss and stay informed on the latest developments of employees’ international mobility.
This year’s edition counted on over 70 exhibitors and 20 conferences about international management of human resources and the number of visitors has experienced a 60% growth compared to the previous edition.
Among the various sessions that took place during the two days of the fair, the one entitled "Culture: Difficulties in multi-country environments" held by Fons Trompenaars, a well-known worldwide expert in intercultural communication, gathered a lot of interest among the audience, together with sessions dedicated to the impact of Brexit on Spanish employees working in the United Kingdom or the expected changes brought by the new president of the USA, Donald Trump, that could affect the employees of Spanish companies in that country.
GEB was among the sponsors of this event and its representatives gave insights about international employee benefits schemes for expatriates and mobile workers. Generali experts addressed themes such as:
- What is the role of a competitive benefits and compensation package in the success of employees’ international assignments?
- How to select the right partner to cover the benefits of mobile employees?
- What are the main challenges an HR manager should consider when designing an assignment abroad?
- How can Generali accompany small and medium Spanish enterprises in their internationalisation process?
Generali presented its international offer for small and medium companies that would like to expand their operations abroad and would need to have international benefits plans for local and expatriate employees.
